Known locally as “Home from Home” the Day Care Centre was set up in 1991 and is run by a volunteer management committee. Its members meet every Wednesday in modern spacious premises, just off the High Street in Hopton, but residents of adjoining villages are also welcome.
We can arrange to pick you up from your home in time for a 10am arrival and then take you home again at 3.00pm. On arrival morning tea or coffee and biscuits are provided, then a 2 course lunch, freshly cooked on the premises, and finally afternoon tea and cakes.
During the day there are a range of activities available to members as well as the opportunity to simply have a good chat with the volunteers and other members.
There are entertainments and outings throughout the year and in the Summer there are occasional short trips out for morning coffee to local places including Blooms at Bressingham, Hillcrest Garden Centre and Swallow Aquatics at Harling and the riverside at Thetford.
If you would like to have a regular day out in the company of others, secure in the knowledge that professional carers are always on hand then please contact Joyce Barrett either by email or on a Wednesday by ringing her on 01953 681692.
She will be able to tell you more about how it works, the cost, answer any questions you may have and if you are interested arrange for you to visit for a day to see if you like it.
