PARISH COUNCIL

The Parish Council is the Burial Authority for the Cemetery and maintains and holds the registers of burials. You can find our cemetery fees and application form here.

We currently have one casual vacancy on the Council for the Parish of Knettishall, to be filled by co-option. If you are interested in joining the Council, please email the Clerk

Hopton's Police Support Volunteer

Our Police Support Volunteer is Su Delve who is also a member of the Parish Council. She is one of the first West Suffolk PSVs.  If you see Su walking around the villages, cycling the green lanes or up at Knettishall Heath, and she is wearing her Police tabard, please feel free to stop her and have an informal chat.

Hopton and Knettishall are served by three nearby rail stations, providing links to Norwich, Cambridge, Ipswich and London.

WHO TO CONTACT ABOUT FLOODING

In an emergency, especially if there is danger to life as a result of flooding, you should not hesitate to phone 999.

For flood information and warnings, phone the Environment Agency Floodline - 0345 988 1188 

For general enquiries about river or sea flooding, contact the Environment Agency on 03708 506 506.

To report flooding from sewers or water pipes, contact Anglian Water on 03457 145 145 (sewerage) or 0800 771 881 (water).

Any incidents of flooding on trunk roads (A11, A12 south of Ipswich, A14) should be directed to Highways England. Their Information Line is 0300 123 5000

For incidents on any other roads in Suffolk, phone 0345 605 6171

Non urgent reports of minor flooding or blocked drains or gullies can be completed online at www.suffolk.gov.uk/flooding.

POWER CUTS

Call 105 from a corded phone (or 0800 3163 105 from a mobile) to report a power cut.

Households with older or disabled people, those with children under five, or where someone uses medical or mobility equipment that requires electricity (as well as other reasons) can join the Priority Service Register.
